Fledgling New York-based beauty company Orveon has closed on the $700m purchase of three Shiseido prestige cosmetic brands, which will serve as the basis for a larger beauty business the new company intends to build through innovation, expansion to new markets, and potentially more M&A.

Private equity firm Advent International Corp. closes its acquisition of Shiseido brands bareMinerals, BUXOM and Laura Mercier through its newly launched Orveon beauty business, the Boston firm announces. Orveon plans to invest in innovation, entry in new markets, and possible additional brand acquisitions as it builds a beauty portfolio grounded in “skin health and overall wellness.”
