US States On Verge Of Banning Weight-Loss Supplement Sales To Minors Without Prescription

Bills awaiting the signature of California and New York governors would set restrictions on sales of diet pills to minors and require a prescription to purchase them in those states.

The Natural Products Association suggests California lawmakers are overreaching with a bill that would require a doctor’s prescription for minors to purchase OTC weight-loss dietary supplements and require retailers to post notices at point of sale suggesting the products may contribute to health problems.
