Risk-share pays off for Lilly as it takes back migraine antibody

Eli Lilly is acquiring all rights to a therapeutic migraine antibody that it discovered and then licensed to new company Arteaus Therapeutics for development in 2011.

Arteaus was formed with an $18m investment from Atlas Venture and OrbiMed solely for the development of the calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) antibody. The plan was to use the $18m to either demonstrate proof of concept of LY2951742 in migraine prevention or abandon the project (
