Boston-area biotech Apnimed expects Phase III readouts for its obstructive sleep apnea combination drug by May. Patients with OSA are desperate for a pill to treat the condition, and GLP-1 agonists are only part of the solution.

Lawrence Miller is not afraid of giants. The CEO of sleep apnea-focused Apnimed believes that even though Eli Lilly’s Zepbound (tirzepatide) recently won approval for treating moderate-to-severe obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in adults with obesity, there is ample room for his company’s OSA drug, AD109, which is in the midst of two Phase III trials.
