With the addition of weight loss and obesity indications and more patient-friendly dosing regimens beginning at the start of the current decade, glucagon-like-peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists have exploded into a multi-billion-dollar, cultural phenomenon, comparable in the prescription pharma space to the arrival of Viagra (sildenafil) in the late 1990s or Botox before it.
