California is set to become the first US state to manufacture its own line of generic drugs after the state legislature approved the Generic Drug Pricing Bill, aimed to increase competition, lower prices and address shortages in the market for generic prescription drugs, to reduce the cost of prescription drugs and to increase patient access to affordable drugs.
