US Allows Imports To Lower Drug Costs

Using Safe Importation Action Plan, Final Rule And Guidance

With the aim of lowering prices and improving access to certain prescription drugs, the US FDA and HHS have decided to allow imports from Canada. To enable this, the FDA has finalized the rule allowing importation and issued accompanying guidance.

The US will now be allowed to import certain prescription drugs from Canada, after the US Department of Health and Human Services and the US Food and Drug Administration took steps “to help provide safe, effective, and more affordable drugs to American patients.”
