FDA To Congressman Pallone: Probe Into WEN Conditioner AEs Continues

FDA’s investigation is “active and ongoing” into AE reports linking WEN Cleansing Conditioners to hair loss, irritation and rashes. In a letter obtained by the Rose Sheet through a Freedom of Information Act request, the agency addresses questions posed by Democratic Congressman Frank Pallone regarding its regulatory response to date and related exchanges with manufacturer Guthy-Renker and creator Chaz Dean.

In a response to Rep. Frank Pallone, D-N.J., FDA provides an overview of its work to address concerns about the safety of WEN Cleansing Conditioners, while noting that its investigation is ongoing and deflecting on the question of whether the agency has “sufficient authority” to regulate cosmetic products.

France's food safety regulator ANSES is proposing a reproductive toxicity category 1B classification for CBD under the EU's CLP regulation, which would mean an effective ban on CBD in cosmetics and foods.
