ECHA Announces Coming Enforcement Projects On REACH Compliance

Industry compliance with REACH registration and authorization requirements will be the subject of coming enforcement projects, according to a recent notice from the European Chemicals Agency. Related investigations have identified violations of late, including unauthorized use of substances of very high concern.

Authorities responsible for enforcement of the European Union's Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals regulation intend to conduct a third pilot project in 2019 to ensure that companies using substances of very high concern (SVHCs) are complying with authorization rules.

The Forum for Exchange of Information on Enforcement, comprising one representative from each EU member state, decided at its June 20-21 plenary meeting to include the project
