California DTSC's Alternatives Analysis Guide Version 1.0 Slated For Public Discussion

The cosmetics industry has yet to be affected by California's Safer Consumer Products regulation, but if a cosmetic product/chemical combination is included in the next round of Priority Product selections, companies will have the DTSC's heavily criticized – and largely unchanged – Alternatives Analysis Guide to steer their compliance efforts.

The California Department of Toxic Substances Control issued version 1.0 of its Safer Consumer Products Alternatives Analysis Guide in June, and changes made to the document since the release of a draft in late 2016 are not likely to satisfy industry stakeholders.
