TINA.org Alleges Gillette Products Are 'Wicked Imported,' Not Made In USA

P&G's Gillette says "we don't just market blades, we've been making them right here in Boston for over 100 years." That may be the case, but Truth in Advertising says the brand does not disclose that the majority of its products are not "all or virtually all" made in the US as its ads suggest, a finding the NGO has referred to FTC.

Television and social media ads portraying Procter & Gamble Co.’s Gillette products alongside the brand’s Boston headquarters and images of the American flag convey a "Made in USA" claim in violation of Federal Trade Commission standards, according to nonprofit Truth In Advertising (TINA.org).

“Patriotism is an incredibly effective marketing tool because many consumers are drawn to U.S.-made products,” notes TINA.org Executive Director Bonnie Patten in a Jan. 23
