Doris Matsui, D-CA, and Bill Johnson, R-OH, renew their push for a national age-18 requirement for buying OTC medicines containing the cough suppressant dextromethorphan, which is abused by some teenagers to get high. The House members on Jan. 30 introduced the DXM Abuse Prevention Act of 2019, H.R. 863, legislation that they also sponsored during the previous session of Congress.
