California DTSC Seeks Input On Lowering 1,4-Dioxane Levels In Cosmetics Under Safer Products Reg

The Department of Toxic Substances Control released a work plan in May related to 1,4-dioxane in cosmetics and household cleaners, signaling a potential Priority Product listing on the horizon under California’s Safer Consumer Products regulation. The DTSC will host a second public workshop on the topic 21 Aug. and is accepting comments through 30 Aug.

Options for, and impediments to, lowering 1,4-dioxane levels in personal-care and household cleaning products will be the focus of discussion at a 21 Aug. public workshop as California’s Department of Toxic Substances Control considers prioritizing the substance for action under the state’s Safer Consumer Products (SCP) regulation.
