Far from popular with industry stakeholders, SB 574 nevertheless could represent a lesser-of-evils compromise of strategic importance, with further activity expected on the bill in 2020.
The Cosmetic Fragrance and Flavor Ingredient Right to Know Act of 2019 passed the California Senate in late May and sailed through Assembly health and environmental committees over the summer, receiving unanimous votes of approval, before reaching the Assembly Appropriations Committee, where it stalled.
