US Omnibus Spending Package Boost FDA Budget $102M, But Drops COVID-19 Funding

The US Food and Drug Administration received a 3% hike in funding for fiscal year 2022 under the omnibus budget agreement Congress recently passed and President Biden signed on 15 March.

The proposal, passed quickly by both chambers to get $14bn in emergency aid to Ukraine, gives the FDA a total budget of almost $5.9bn. Of that, $3.2bn will come from appropriations and $2.7bn is expected to be made up in user fees
