The fragrance and cosmetics industries’ nightmares of vanishing lavender fields and natural ingredient depletion under the European Green Deal may be receding after Parliament adopted its position on 4 October regarding EU revision of the Classification, Labeling and Packaging (CLP) regulation.
Fragrance, Cosmetics Sectors Unclench; EU Parliament Advocates Lighter Touch In CLP Revision
The European Parliament’s proposed changes to the Commission’s draft text for revising the Classification, Labeling and Packaging (CLP) regulation, specifically concerning the classification of renewable substances of botanical origin, “are essential to supporting the future of the natural ingredients used in cosmetics and fragrances,” IFRA and Cosmetics Europe say.
