In Second Term At Helm, Would Califf Steer US FDA On Supplement Market Regulation Changes?

US dietary supplement industry trade groups are hopeful Robert Califf’s potential return as commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration would light fires necessary to move the agency on stalled issues.

Natural Products Association president and CEO Dan Fabricant, following media reports on 14 October that President Biden is considering Califf, currently head of clinical policy and strategy at Google’s health care arm Verily, to lead the agency, noted Califf’s 2015 Senate hearing confirming him to an 11-month stint in the role under the Obama administration
