Industry trade groups are sounding the alarm about cosmetics product preservation challenges and potential impacts on availability, pricing and product safety following Washington State’s enactment of HB 1047, the most aggressive cosmetics ban in the country.
Governor Jay Inslee signed the Toxic-Free Cosmetics Act into law on 15 May, more than a month after it was delivered to his desk. Introduced in January by Democratic Rep. Sharlett Mena, the bill passed the state House of Representatives on 1 March and the Senate on 8 April
