There are no therapies currently available for hearing loss that protect or restore hearing, Decibel Therapeutics' CEO Steven Holtzman told Scrip, describing the area as a "white space." The condition is currently managed using medical devices like hearing aids and cochlear implants, but Decibel aims to change the standard of care by developing effective pharmaceuticals to help protect, repair and restore hearing.
