NuVasive Adds Artificial Cervical Disc By Acquiring Simplify For $150M

Simplify’s total disc replacement complements NuVasive’s C360 line of cervical repair surgery devices, addressing a market that could eventually be worth $2.6bn.

NuVasive acquired Simplify Medical, the developer of the Simplify Cervical Artificial Disc, to fill an important gap in its cervical surgery portfolio.

Under the terms of the deal, announced on 24 February, NuVasive made an upfront payment to Simplify Medical of $150m in cash and has agreed to make additional future payments contingent upon milestones related to regulatory
