Baxter Healthcare has been ordered by the US Food and Drug Administration to recall and destroy all of its Colleague infusion pumps in the US due to “a longstanding failure to correct many serious problems with the pumps”1,2. The action is expected to cost the company up to $600 million in additional expenses.
