Multiple COVID-19 vaccines, including from J&J, Pfizer and RDIF, are seen gaining approvals in India in 2021, following on from a raft of R&D, manufacturing and marketing tie-ups, as well as other developments, in the action-packed field last year.

After conditional accelerated approvals were granted in India to Serum Institute of India Pvt. Ltd.’s COVID-19 vaccine Covishield and Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin in January, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer Limited, India., Zydus Cadila, Biological E. Ltd. and the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) are also likely to receive local nods for their candidates during 2021.
