The approved fridge storage time for Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE's mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccine Comirnaty has been extended from just five days to one month, following a guidance change by the European Medicines Agency.

The previous advice from the agency stated that the vaccine had to be kept at an ultra-cold temperature, between -70C and -80C, until a few days before use when it could be transferred to a standard medical fridge
