Hacking Of Wireless Devices Poses Growing Threat, Warns Homeland Security Report

Department of Homeland Security bulletin details the risks of "malicious intrusion" into wireless health care networks and connected medical devices.

A bulletin from the Department of Homeland Security’s National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center warns FDA and other health care stakeholders that wireless networked medical devices should be viewed as inherently more vulnerable than traditional medical devices due to the risk of “malicious intrusion” and patient data theft.

“In a world in which communication networks and medical devices can dictate life or death, these systems, if compromised, pose a significant threat to the public and private sector,” DHS states in its May 4 report
