US FDA opens offices in Latin America and Europe

The US Food and Drug Administration has set up its first Latin American office - in Costa Rica - to better regulate health and food products being imported from the region1. There are plans to set up offices in South America and Mexico later in the year. The agency has also opened an office in the European Union, in Brussels, Belgium.
