AMS and Ethicon in patent pact:

American Medical Systems (AMS) has entered into a cross-licensing agreement with Ethicon's Gynecare worldwide division involving patents in the field of female pelvic health. AMS, of Minnetonka, Minnesota, recently received US FDA clearance for its Perigee device, the first minimally invasive surgical system for repairing bladder prolapse in women (see Clinica No 1111, p 18). Gynecare's product portfolio addresses female health issues, such as excessive menstrual bleeding, fibroids and polyps and incontinence.
