Medtronic expands aortic offering

Medtronic has bulked up its aortic portfolio with the $110m acquisition of Aptus Endosystems, a California company specializing in endovascular aneurysm repair and thoracic endovascular aneurysm repair. Aptus’ Heli-FX and Heli-FX Thoracic EndoAnchor systems feature an endovascular deployed anchor designed to attach a variety of aortic endografts to the native vessel wall, without the need for complicated procedures. The devices are CE marked and US FDA-cleared, and can be used with commercially available stent graft systems, including Medtronic’s Endurant and Valiant stent graft systems.
