Philadelphia Juries Smack J&J With $200M In Mesh Verdicts

Two separate Philadelphia juries have ruled against Johnson & Johnson subsidiary Ethicon in cases brought by women who say they were injured by the company’s pelvic mesh products, awarding damages totaling $200m.

A Philadelphia jury awarded $80m in a pelvic mesh product liability suit on 17 May, marking the second multimillion-dollar verdict against Johnson & Johnson division Ethicon Endo-Surgery Inc. in Pennsylvania’s Court of Common Pleas within a month. Together, the rulings total $200m.
