FDA Hunts COVID-19 Scammers With ‘Operation Quack Hack’

US FDA investigators are chasing down scammers selling fraudulent COVID-19 treatments and tests. The agency said it is working with online retailers and domain name registrars to pull the products off websites, as well as trying to prevent them from entering the country.

US regulators are going after bad actors who have tried to use the current coronavirus crisis to peddle fake treatments and diagnostics to the public in what they have dubbed “Operation Quack Hack.” So far they have issued more than two dozen warning letters to various entities and are working with website providers and retailers to take down companies making false claims online.
