The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way people not only live and work, but also how they are medically treated, says Robert Kowal, chief medical officer of the cardiac rhythm and heart failure division at Medtronic plc. In an exclusive interview with Medtech Insight, he talks about how connected cardiac devices – at a time when patients are unable to go to their doctor’s office – has literally saved lives, and how the company is evolving largely due to lessons learned from the pandemic.
