PacBio Unveils TRGT, A Tool For Characterizing Rare Disease

PacBio's TRGT can sequence broader sections of DNA, giving scientists and clinicians better odds of spotting repeated sections of DNA linked to disease.

Pacific Biosciences (PacBio) recently revealed TRGT (pronounced “target”), a tool for identifying and quantifying tandem repeats in patients’ DNA profiles, which can then be correlated to disease.

Tandem repeats are segments within DNA where nucleotides are repeated.
