Thanks to funding from the ALS Association's Ice Bucket Challenge and a partnership with Astellas Pharma Inc., Cytokinetics Inc. pursued Phase III development of its fast skeletal muscle troponin activator in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) despite its failure in the Phase IIb BENEFTI-ALS study in 2014.
