Neural Network Tool Identifies Epilepsy-Causing Focal Cortical Dysplasia Lesions

MELD Graph could help speed up the diagnosis and treatment of people with epilepsy by spotting "invisible" brain lesions often missed by radiologists. The new open-source AI tool developed by UK researchers could save the NHS up to $70,000 per patient, said researchers.

A new AI tool developed by King’s College London and University College London (UCL) researchers can detect “invisible brain abnormalities” in people with epilepsy. It could change the care of 30,000 patients annually in the UK and save the National Health Service up to £55,000 ($70,000) per patient, said researchers.
