The US Centers for Medicare and Medicaid has so far resisted lobbying efforts to implement the Medicare Coverage for Innovative Technology (MCIT) rule that would require it to temporarily cover breakthrough devices. But that may be a moot issue if the latest iteration of the 21st Century Cures Act is signed into law.
