AliveCor’s Smartphone-Linked ECG First Product Assessed Under UK’s Rapid HTA Pilot

NICE’s recently launched early value assessment (EVA) pilot has hit a milestone this month, with AliveCor’s KardiaMobile 6L the first product to be given the go-ahead for NHS use in England under the scheme.

The KardiaMobile 6L, a portable ECG that wirelessly records and transmits data, is the first to have received a draft recommendation by the UK National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) following a rapid assessment from its diagnostics advisory committee. The resulting guidance, once finalized, will see the device offered to certain NHS patients within psychiatric settings on a conditional basis while further data are collected for a full assessment.
