Intertek Group swallows UK notified body AMTAC

Amtac Certification Services, the first UK organisation to be appointed as a notified body under the EU Medical Devices Directive (MDD) has been acquired by UK group Intertek Group, a global testing, inspection and certification organisation with over 270 laboratories.

Intertek paid £1.4m ($2.5m) in cash for 100% of the capital of Amtac, based in Manchester.
