This edition of device debuts highlights a wide variety of innovative devices introduced into commercial markets since the beginning of March, including a new stent for side-branch coronary interventions, an assay that identifies which breast-cancer patients do not need chemotherapy, a full ankle prosthesis, improvements to a negative-pressure wound therapy system, and a robotic system that helps paralyzed people learn to walk again.

Device Debuts is a regular Medtech Insight feature highlighting new products introduced into the market for the first time, important new iterations of existing products, or launches of existing products into new markets for the first time. The recent noteworthy product launches in this month's edition include a new coronary stent for side-branches, a breast cancer assay, an ankle prosthesis, negative-pressure wound therapy, and a "partner robot" that helps rehabilitation from lower-limb paralysis.

Tryton Medical Inc. announced the completion of the first coronary intervention with its Tryton Side Branch stent since FDA approved it as the first dedicated side-branch coronary stent in February. In this first commercial case, well-known interventionalists Martin Leon and Ajay Kirtane treated a coronary bifurcation lesion in a large side-branch with the Tryton stent during a procedure at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center in New York, the Durham, North Carolina company announced March 21
