The US Food and Drug Administration's Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) will receive an additional $8m, or a 2% boost, in FY2020 funding after President Trump signed a new spending package into law on 20 December. All FDA spending will rise from a total of $3.07bn in FY2019 to $3.16bn in FY2020, an increase of approximately 3%. A key provision of the bill repealed the medical device excise tax that the medical device industry has been fighting against for the past seven years.
