Exec Chat: Signifier Medical Investing In ‘Daytime-Only Treatments’ And Diagnostics For Sleep Apnea

The UK-based company is seeking to raise a further $100m in 2021 following the recent US clearance of its first product, a daytime-use neurostimulation device for snoring and mild obstructive sleep apnea.

Earlier this month, the US Food and Drug Administration cleared Signifier Medical Technologies’ eXciteOSA device as the first daytime-use genioglossal (tongue) muscle-neurostimulation technology for snoring and mild obstructive sleep apnea.

This concluded three years of toing and froing between the agency and the company as it sought clearance under de novo classification for this new class of device.
