Fewer COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in the US than a month ago and the overall surgical capacity for the country is improving, but many hospitals are still postponing surgeries and other elective procedures due to staffing shortages, according to a new report from Credit Suisse.
“We continue to believe that concerns over staff shortages were a factor contributing to decisions among officials and health systems in some states to take actions in July and August to postpone certain surgeries,” Credit Suisse Matt Miksic wrote in a 4 October report
