FDA Staffing: Retirements Account For More Than One-Third Of FY 2023 Departures

The US Food and Drug Administration’s aging workforce and the end of the years-long COVID-19 pandemic have led to a bolus of retirements across the agency.

In the current fiscal year from 1 October through 1 May, FDA has seen about 634 staffers leave, with 239 of those being retirements, Chief of Staff Julie Tierney said during an Alliance For A Stronger FDA webinar on 5 June, during which
