With the upward trend in drug shortages showing no signs of abating, the French medicines agency, ANSM, says it took a number of steps to contain the problem last year, such as setting product quotas and allowing imports of medicines in short supply.

All product classes are affected by supply chain issues, with drugs for the cardiovascular and nervous systems, anti-infectives and anticancer drugs particularly at risk, says the French regulator.
