EU Firms Called In As Coronavirus Cases Soar

Potential Vaccines, Diagnostics And Repurposed Drug Compounds Sought

With cases of novel coronavirus infection rising at an alarming rate, the industry in Europe is being urged to contribute what it can by way of new products for detecting, diagnosing or treating the disease. Several research projects are also being run or started up with EU funding.

The European Medicines Agency and the European pharmaceutical industry federation EFPIA have asked companies to identify any potential vaccines or treatments they may have in their back catalogues that could be useful in tackling the ongoing novel coronavirus outbreak.
