Flu vaccines now join the Rx medicines US consumers can receive in the mail from pharmacies for home use, much like OTC drugs and dietary supplements.

The Food and Drug Administration on 20 September announced the approval of FluMist (influenza vaccine live) intranasal that consumers may use at home for prevention of the flu caused by influenza virus subtypes A and B in individuals 2 through 49 years old
