Zoetis, the animal health unit of Pfizer Inc., debuted on the public market on Feb. 1 to a roar of enthusiasm from investors, garnering a higher stock price than anticipated in an offering that brought in about $2.2 billion.
Shares of the animal health company originally were priced between $22 and $25, but the stock debuted above the expected range, selling 86.1 million shares at $26 per share on Jan. 31. The stock opened at $30.74 on Feb. 1 and climbed more than 20% during its first trading day to a high of $31.74 before falling back to $31.01 at the close of the market
