EU drug industry federation, EFPIA, is concerned that an increase in protectionist trade measures by some countries could result in tit-for-tat policies that could hamper the global response to contain COVID-19.

The introduction of blanket trade restrictions on medical supplies by some countries facing a shortage of medicines and other medical equipment to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic can do more harm than good, the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations has warned.
