The new director of the Center for Medicare within the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services is physician and health economist Meena Seshamani, who formerly served as the director of the health reform office within the Health and Human Services Department in the Obama Administration.
In her previous role at HHS, Seshamani drove strategy and led implementation of the Affordable Care Act across the department, including coverage policy, delivery system reform, and public health policy. She was one of the HHS officials presiding over the HHS forum on drug pricing in November 2015
