African Medicines Agency To Be Established In 2022

Host Country Sought For New Body

Enough African countries have now ratified the AMA treaty to allow it to come into force next month.

The treaty establishing a new African Medicines Agency will finally come into force on 5 November after Cameroon became the 15th member state of the African Union to deposit its instrument of ratification of the treaty. The aim now is to have the AMA up and running in 2022.
