WHO Seeks Comments On Proposed Additions To Essential Drug Lists

Alongside its ongoing biennial update of the essential medicines lists, the World Health Organization has carried out a review of the age-appropriateness of formulations on the list of medicines for children, in collaboration with the Global Accelerator for Paediatric Formulations (GAP-f).

The World Health Organization is considering applications to include a range of medicines on its essential drug lists, including treatments for COVID-19 as well as medicines for cancer, hypoglycemia, Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis and psychotic disorders.

The applications have been published for comment on the WHO’s website as part of its biennial updating of the Model Lists of Essential medicines (EML) and Essential Medicines for Children...
