North American sales reached $537.6 mil. in the first quarter. Net sales rose 3.1% to $2.24 bil. and net income increased 14.8% to $239.9 mil. Colgate Sparkling White toothpaste with "high cleaning silica with micro-cleaning crystals" will be on shelves May 8. The mint-flavored whitening dentifrice will come in Tartar Control and Baking Soda & Peroxide formulas. A 7.8 oz. and 6 oz. tube will retail for $3.49 and $2.99, respectively. Print, TV and Internet advertising will break in June, as well as FSIs with coupons and in-store displays
